While real estate holds the enviable position of one of the largest asset classes in the world, it has notoriously been innovation-poor and slow at adopting new technologies. In the last few years, Proptech has become a hot term as investors worldwide are drawn to what could be the next industry facing disruption. Out of the US$7.8 billion invested since 2013, over 60% of Proptech investment according to JLL has been received by the Asia Pacific region. Where does the Canadian industry stand and how can we encourage further Proptech developments and investments? The HKCBA has assembled a panel of experts to answer these questions.
